How to organize your cards with Folders and Tags

Organize your coaching content with Folders and Tags from Nudge Coach on Vimeo.

If you've started creating cards in your Card Library, you may be wondering if there's a way to organize them to make them easier to sort through and find the one you're looking for...

Enter Folders - "Folders" allow you to create and label your own folders so that you can do just that! Folders are just for the coaches eyes only. If you're looking for a way to groups cards together for your clients to view in their apps, we've got a solution for that as well - it's called "Tags". Scroll down for step-by-step instructions on configuring Folders and Tags from your coach account.

Folders

To create a folder, start by navigating to your Program Builder tab, and then in the Card Library, tap the " + " under All Cards.

Select the Folder option and give your Folder a name. We review some common uses for Folders and Tags in this webinar.

Again, Folders are used to organized cards in your coach account. If you want the grouped cards to appear in your clients' apps as well as your Card Library, select the Tag option.

Once you've created your Folder, you can add cards to that Folder in several ways.

1. From your All Cards list, click and drag individual cards into a Folder:

2. From your All Cards list, select Manage Cards, select multiple cards and drag them into a Folder:

3. From your All Cards list, select Manage Cards, select one or multiple cards and select Add to Folder, then select the Folder you want them to appear in:

Now that your cards are in a Folder, you can click and drag them into the order you would like them to appear:

You can also remove cards from a Folder at any time by selecting the Folder, tapping Manage Cards, selecting the card(s) you would like to remove and then selecting Remove From Folder. Keep in mind the card will remain in your All Cards list, but will be removed from the Folder. If you would like to archive the card entirely (removing it from both your Folder and your All Cards list), select Archive.

Now you have created a Folder! Create as many Folders as you would like to organize cards for yourself ;)

Tags

Now that you know how to create a Folder to help yourself stay organized, let's review how to create Tags for your clients to view grouped cards in just a few taps! Tags can be a great way for clients to more easily navigate to a specific card that was shared with them in their Program Feed, rather than having to scroll back in their Feed for days/weeks/months/etc. to find the card they're looking for.

The process for creating Tags is the same as creating a Folder. To start, navigate to your Program Builder tab, and then in the Card Library, tap the " + " under All Cards.

Select the Tag option and give your Tag a name. Keep in mind your clients will be able to see the title of of your Tag from the app.

Once you've created your Tag, you can add cards to that Tag in several ways (video demos are above).

1. From your All Cards list, click and drag individual cards into a Tag.

2. From your All Cards list, select Manage Cards, select multiple cards and drag them into a Tag.

3. From your All Cards list, select Manage Cards, select one or multiple cards and select Add to Tag, then select the Tag you want them to appear in.

Now that your cards are in a Tag, you can click and drag them into the order you would like them to appear in your clients' apps:

You can also remove cards from a Tag at any time by selecting the Tag, tapping Manage Cards, selecting the card(s) you would like to remove and then selecting Remove From Tag. Keep in mind the card will remain in your All Cards list and in your clients' feeds unless un-assigned, but will be removed from the Tag and no longer available for your client(s) to find in that group of cards. If you would like to archive the card entirely (removing it from both your Tag and your All Cards list), select Archive. Again, archiving a card does not remove the card from your clients' Program Feeds (it would have to be un-assigned and "removed from feed" in order to remove the card entirely), but rather just moves the card to the Archived folder.

Now you have created a Tag! From your clients' Program tab, they will see a Tag toggle at the top of the tab if they have been assigned cards that have been assigned to a tag.

If you have added cards to a Tag but not all of those cards have been assigned to a particular client, the client will only see the cards that were assigned to them when viewing that tag, so only the ones that apply to them.

Switching from Folders to Tags (and vice-versa)

If you have created a Folder to organize cards for yourself and want to make the grouped cards available to the clients who have been assigned them, you can always switch the settings of your Folder to a Tag. To do this, just select your Folder, and then on the right-hand side, select Edit Folder. Under Type, tap the Tag type and voila! The cards in your Folder are now available for your clients to view in a Tag.

You can also switch the settings of your Tag to a Folder if you no longer wish for your clients to see the cards you had added to a Tag in their Program tab any longer. To do this, follow the same steps as above, making sure to change the type from a Tag to a Folder.

**Note: Removing a Tag from your clients' Program tab does not remove the cards that were in that Tag from your clients' feeds. It only removes the option for them to find those grouped cards in one centralized location. Clients can still scroll back through their Program tab to find any cards they had been assigned. You must un-assign and remove the card(s) from your clients' feed in order to remove the cards entirely.**

Deleting a Folder/Tag

To delete a Folder or Tag entirely, select your Folder or tag from your Program Builder and select Edit [Folder or Tag]. Then select the garbage icon to remove the Folder or Tag from your Card Library or from your clients' Program tab.

**Note: Deleting a Tag from your Card Library and your clients' Program tab does not remove the cards that were in that Tag from your clients' feeds. It only removes the option for them to find those grouped cards in one centralized location. Clients can still scroll back through their Program tab to find any cards they had been assigned. You must un-assign and remove the card(s) from your clients' feeds in order to remove the cards entirely.**
